Nelda Cavalari Obituary
Nelda was born Dec. 1, 1943, and was the loving wife of John Cavalari. She was the daughter of late Theodore and Violet (Price) Harris. She graduated from Avoca High School and was a member of St. John's Primitive Methodist Church, Avoca.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Isaac Harris; sister Caroline Jane Reap, Avoca; and Shirley O'Malley, Bound Brook, N.J.
Surviving are children, Caroline Rabender and husband, Lawrence, Avoca; Ruthann Pastelok and husband, Joseph, Stephens City, Va.; and John Cavalari Jr. and wife, Brenda, Wilkes Barre. Nelda was very proud of her eight grandchildren, Joey, Zachary, Johnathon, Andrew, Jeremy, Tyler, Jacqueline and Matthew; her great-grandson, Raymond; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Torbik and her staff for taking such good care of Nelda over the years.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. John's Primitive Methodist Church, 316 Main St., Avoca, with the Rev. Dale Pepper officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Interment will be held in Langcliffe Cemetery, Avoca. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church for services, there will be no procession.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Jamie Baker Memorial, 920 South St., Avoca; or St. Johns Primitive Methodist Church, 314 Main St., Avoca.
