Patrick Jude Mullen, a lifelong resident of Mountain Top, passed away Friday, Sept. 6, 2024.
Born May 14, 1944, he was the son of the late James G. Mullen and Margaret Leyfort Mullen. He was proceeded in death by his sister, Mary Barley.
He was a union millwright welder for over 55 years with Local No. 443. He was a man of many talents, including carpentry, electrical and plumbing. There was never a project he could not conquer, and his wife, Nellie, was always by his side to assist.
He was married to the love of his life, Nellie, for 56 years. They were inseparable. Wherever you saw Pat, you knew Nellie was close by.
He always believed family came first, and he demonstrated that by spending all of his free time with his loved ones. He had twin daughters, Leslie Mullen; and Leah Kraynak and spouse Bruce Kraynak, Mountain Top; granddaughter, Carrie Kraynak; and grandson, Joseph Kraynak, Mountain Top.
His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren. Pat never missed an event for Carrie and Joey. He was heavily involved with Joe's Boy Scout activities and Pack 106. He was very proud of each of their accomplishments and he made sure to let them know. Pat idolized both Carrie and Joey.
Pat had two godchildren, Joseph Barley and Daniel Kosloski. He had a special bond with his nephew, Robert Barley, his wife Liz, and their sons Kyle and Luke. Pat also had many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff on the sixth floor at Geisinger Wyoming Valley in addition to the staff at Allied Hospice for their care and compassion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Jude's Church, Mountain Top. Interment will follow St. Patrick's Cemetery, White Haven. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time.
