Peter Mangino Obituary
Born in Hanover Twp., he was the son of the late Samuel and Eleanor Dunsavage Mangino.
Peter was a graduate of Bishop Hoban High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1976, and was employed as a contractor.
He was a fourth degree knight with the Knights of Columbus, Council 302, Wilkes-Barre.
As a former drummer with a passion for music, Pete could always be found either tapping along to the beat or out on the dance floor - and if you happened to be in his path, you were dancing alongside him before you even knew what happened.
Surviving are his daughters, Kimberly Jukes and her husband, John, Edmond, Okla.; and Jamie Mangino, Wilkes-Barre; brother, Louis Mangino and his wife, Diane, Plains Twp.; niece and nephew Kara and Louis Mangino; former wife, Maureen Mangino, Glen Lyon; and his beloved cats, Loki and Tigger.
The family would like to thank the ICU and Hospice teams at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for their compassion and care they gave Peter and his family.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date in St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Joseph Verespy, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by the Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains Twp.
Memorial donations may be made to an animal shelter of the donor's choice in Peter's memory.

To the family wishing you all strength during this terrible time. I knew Pete from growing up in Lee Park, he was two years older than I but crossed paths often in the younger days. The most recent time was when he was working for the company that built my sunroom several years back. Unbeknownst to me Pete showed up as the crew leader. It was a nice week or two to catch up on life & things in the neighborhood. What a skilled carpenter! I appreciated the care and quality that he demonstrated throughout the job. It was great reconnecting with him. So very sorry that his life was taken so early. Rest In Peace Pete.
