Robert Padden Obituary

Robert L. Padden of Alden Station passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, at Celtic Hospice Geisinger, South Wilkes-Barre.

Robert was born on Oct. 3, 1943 in Sugar Notch to Thomas and Francis McConoloque Padden. He was a graduate of Sugar Notch High School. Robert served his country in the 101 Airborne Division of the Army.

Robert was formerly employed by the Labor Union, Local 215. He loved going on family vacations, driving anywhere, tending to his yard and garden, and especially his Yankees and Green Bay Packers.

Robert is survived by his wife, the former Mary Lynch, with whom he celebrated his 51st anniversary Sept. 12, 2015. He is also survived by his children, Michael and wife, Andrea, Mountain Top; Debra and husband, Jason Gallagher, Alden Station; Mary Beth and husband, Charles Christ, Alden Station; Rob and wife, Karen Padden, Laurel Run; and grandchildren, Meghan, Erin, Michael, Logan and Ian Padden. He will be especially missed by Mark and Nicole Gusditis and their sons, Connor and Garret.

Robert is survived by his brothers, James, Gene, John and Joe; sisters, Patricia Mitchell, Elizabeth Myers, Anita Godumski and Mary Kuhns; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas; and sisters, Rose Dombrowski and Nancy Padden.

Robert's family would like to thank Dr. Patrick Kerrigan and Dr. Peter Andrews for their care and kindness.

The Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at a time to be announced.

The family requests that those attending go directly to St. Leo's Holy Rosary Church, 33 Manhattan St., Ashley.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre.
