Robert Wren, 79, of Dallas, passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Jan. 6, 1943, he was the son of the late Harold and Agnes Mason Wren.
Robert worked at Geisinger Hospital for 20 years, managed Fisca Oil for 19 years and retired from Marion Terrace. To keep busy after retirement, he bartended at Stan's Cafe.
Robert coached at the Heights Little League for over 20 years; Heights Teeners Baseball for many years; and Heights Packers Mini Football. He was a member of the GAR Football Booster Club and worked with the football team for many years and coached girls softball.
Robert loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren, watching and coaching them in sports.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kevin, in 1972; and brother, David.
He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Dianne Poepperling Wren; five children, Robert and his wife, Donna, Dallas; Keith, PlainsTwp.; Yvette, Wyoming; Scott, Wilkes-Barre; and Lance and his wife, Jessica, Dallas; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold and his wife, Ann, Wisconsin; Ronald and his wife, Donna, South Dakota; sisters, Annette, Arizona; Beth Ann, North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Cross Creek Community Church, 370 Carverton Road, Trucksville. Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of services Thursday.

Farewell to my favorite little league coach a lot of my favorite memories as a child was playing for him go Heights tigers I could still hear his voice echo in my mind when you would come up to bat he would say let's go a little bingo here. Bob was a great friend, we had a lot of laughs while having a beer at Stan's Café. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. RIP my friend.
