Sandra L. Ioanna Evans, 75, a resident of Ashley, passed into eternal life Tuesday evening, Nov. 30, 2021, at her home, with her loving daughter at her side.

Born on May 11, 1946, in Wilkes-Barre, Sandra was the daughter of the late Peter and Ida Taylor Ioanna.

Raised in Plains Twp., Sandy was a graduate of the former Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1964.

Prior to her retirement, Sandy was employed for 25 years by the former Carter Footwear Inc., Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre. After retirement, she worked various part-time jobs, most notably at Bedwick & Jones Printing Inc., Hanover Twp.

Sandy was known for her bubby personality and her ability to socialize with anyone. She had a great love for animals and she cherished each of the dogs she had over the years. She enjoyed going to yard sales with her sister, Evelyn, and her daily phone calls with her niece, Denise, who sang to Sandy every day.

Above all, Sandy will be best remembered for the abounding love she had for each of her loved ones, most especially her granddaughter, Kaelee, who was the light of Sandy's life! Although her presence will be missed beyond measure, her beautiful spirit will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Peter and Ida Ioanna, Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, David J. Evans, who passed away March 5, 2017; her brothers, Alva and Ernest Jones; and her sister, Shirley Jones Layaou.

Sandy is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Kane and her husband, William F. Jr., Hanover Twp.; her granddaughter, Kaelee Kane and her companion, Victoria Benning, Ashley; her stepson, Scott Evans and his wife, Lisa, Dallas; her stepgrandchildren, Declan and Olivia Evans, both of Dallas; her brother, Daniel Jones and his wife, Sadie, Erie; her sisters, Evelyn Ioanna and her companion, Cindy Lucarelli, Laflin; and Vera Walkowiak, Punta Gorda, Fla.; her numerous nieces and nephews; and her many friends.

The family wishes to extend their most sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff from Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the outstanding care they provided Sandy during her time of need, and for the compassion and care they bestowed upon her family - they were true Angels on Earth! The family also wishes to thank Sandy's neighbors, Theresa and Michelle, for always being there for Sandy.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Sandy's viewing, which will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort.

A private blessing service will be held Tuesday with the Rev. Richard J. Cirba, family friend and pastor of Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church, Buttonwood section of Hanover Twp., officiating.

Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.
