Stanley Sheloski Obituary

Stanley R. Sheloski, 91, of Lyndwood, Hanover Twp., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019, at the Gino Merli Veterans Center, Scranton.

Born May 18, 1927, in Plymouth, he was the son of the late Stanley Baker and Caroline Swedras Sheloski. He was a graduate of Plymouth High School, Class of 1945. Stanley was a member of St. Casimir's Church, Lyndwood, serving as an usher for 20 years.

He was a nine-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and an 18-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, serving during World War II and in Korea. He was the recipient of many medals, including the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with two Bronze Stars and the Organized Marine Corps Reserve Medal with two Bronze Stars.

Prior to his retirement, he was the owner and operator of the family bakery business and he retired from the Pennsylvania Gas & Water Company after 22 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, the former Constance Andriekas; daughter, Carol Ann Piper; sisters, Marcella Taylor and Caroline Waters; and brother, Frank Sheloski.

Surviving are his children, Connie Henry, of Fort Collins, Colo.; Stephen Sheloski and his wife, Pamela, of Cresco/Fort Myers, Fla.; Stanley Sheloski and his wife, Donna, Kauai, Hawaii; and Robert Sheloski and his wife, Kim, of Mountain Top; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Claypool, of San Diego, Calif.; and Dorothy Stock, of Plymouth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth. A celebration of life will begin at 7:45 p.m. The service will be conducted by Stanley's niece, Grace Taylor.

Private interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

So sorry for your loss Stanley and I were friends for a long time he was a great guy and a Marine all the way He played end on the football team at PHS and was the Blonde Comet May he rest in peace Semper Fi Stanley from an Army man from the same period One thing more you could eat off the floor of his garage he kept it as neat as a pin He is with Connie now
