Theodore H. "Ted" Ellison, 82, a resident of the Mayflower section of Wilkes-Barre, passed into eternal life unexpectedly as an emergency patient in Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre on Saturday evening, March 12, 2022.
Born Monday, July 17, 1939, in San Diego, Calif., during his father's naval deployment, he was one of five children to the late Theodore and Madeline Savage Ellison.
Following the family's relocation to the Wyoming Valley, he was educated in the Wilkes-Barre schools, having attended the former Grand Army of the Republic Memorial High School.
Until his retirement, he was employed as a roofer by the Eyerman Roofing Company, Nanticoke. In his youth, he worked for the former Heavenly Shoe Company and was a carpeting sub-contractor with his brother, John, in the Ellison Carpeting Company, Nanticoke.
In his spare time and enjoying the outdoors, Mr. Ellison formerly was an avid hunter. Despite enjoying his solitude, he is remembered as being a loving brother, uncle and friendly neighbor to those he would come in contact with. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
Left to hold on to his memory are his sister, Mrs. Alice Kozup, Pittston; Ms. Mary Karen Kinns, Wilkes-Barre; and Mrs. Kathleen Brooks, Waveland, Miss.; brother, Mr. John Ellison and his wife, Nancy, Nanticoke; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, neighbors and dear friends.
Per his request, funeral services and interment for Mr. Ellison will be held privately and at the convenience of his family with no formal visitation.
The John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc., Wilkes-Barre, is honored to care for Mr. Ellison and his family at this time.

Very sorry to hear this news. He was always very generous to our family, and was a cherished extended member. He knew a little about a lot, and always had something interesting to talk about. I know he and my dad are up there having a "caffee" and chatting over nothing at all. Deepest condolences to the Ellison family.
