Tracie Long, 53, of Plains Twp., formerly of Columbia, S.C., was welcomed into heaven on Monday, Aug. 26, 2024.
Born in South Carolina, the daughter of Deborah Jones, Tracie moved to Pennsylvania with her daughter, Sherry, to start a new chapter in their lives. This chapter ended up being the greatest love story in her life as she met her husband, Harold.
Harold and Tracie built a loving home and life together and were not only husband and wife but also best friends for 17 years. Their home and life were ?lled with love, laughter, children and grandchildren.
Tracie has three grandchildren whom she loved like crazy and took much pride in. Tracie enjoyed her time with Elena, Harmony and Josiah and the conversations they shared, pictures they took and the silly ways they would play. You could not mention their names without Tracie putting on the biggest smile.
Tracie took a lot of joy and pride in the home she made her and Harold. She had a keen eye for decorating her home with each room having a different color scheme and personalized touch. Everything had its place for sure.
Preceding Tracie in death were her grandparents, Joe and Gerry Allen; mother, Deborah Jones; and stepdaughter, Corinna Long.
Surviving, in addition to her husband and best friend, Harold Long, Plains Twp., are daughter, Sherry Long and husband, Edward, Pittston; son, Joe Hornsby, West Virginia; son, Bruce Long and wife, Ashley, McAdoo; stepdaughters, Alicia Long, Virginia Beach; Megan Long, Florida; grandchildren, Elena, Harmony and Josiah; aunt, Jo Ann Hornsby and husband, Guy, West Virginia; Kitty's Jack and Harley; life long best friend, Lainie Feuerstein Ushelbec; and many other family and friends.
Tracie was the kindest person and always made you feel welcomed and loved. She was also known for her amazing sense of humor and to those closest to her she was downright silly. If Tracie could say one more thing to everyone, she would tell us to be kind and spread love.
A private funeral was held at Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St. Plains Twp., followed by interment in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Twp.

People always say that certain ages are too young to leave this earth. It is just a number. Although 53 years is all she physically had here she filled those years with love, joy, and her legacy. Sherry, Joey (Joe), Elena, Harmony, Josiah her legacy. Her love, kindness, blood and heart live on in them and each generation that follows. With each kind word, loving gesture, silly moment that these wonderful people show, is a piece of Tracie coming out in them. There will never be a day on this earth where Tracie, in some shape or form will not be alive. With each passing generation her blood will flow. Her kindness will be spread. She was not here for only 53 years, she will be here for eternity. If you were lucky enough to have known her, it would be impossible to forget her. My life will be changed forever because I want to be more like her. If everyone was like her this world would be such a great place. Imagine a world where no one hurt anyone's feelings, no one puts themselves before others, and love was the only emotion that you displayed. I cannot imagine that but I saw it first hand in her. Thank you Tracie for loving me unconditionally and for always pointing out the good in me and never condemning the not so good. Thank you being the greatest thing in my brothers life and for showing him what true happiness is. I love you .
