Dixie was my seat mate for a while in the Kansas House of Representatives. So, I learned to know her there, and in our party's caucus. She was a dear friend, always helpful and with such a wonderful sense of humor. She and Roger will always hold a special place in all our hearts . May she rest in peace as she so deserves.

Roger, Jay, and Jill, my thoughts and prayers are with you in the days ahead. Dixie always had a smile for me and I loved our chats when we would see each other. I know she has had a long struggle, but she is now looking down on you with her special. smile. I am sure she is with Julie and surrounded by the Shawnne Heights family which preceded her. My heart is heavy since I read the news of Dixie's passing. The time we spent as seat-mates in the Kansas House, created memories I will never forget. Dixie was so much fun, and yet so caring. She took her duties seriously and was truly a faithful public servant. I will treasure the memories. I send my most heartfelt sympathy.

I am so sorry for the loss of Dixie. I remember her from the days when she was secretary at Crane Jr. High. She was an energetic and creative person. I was honored to support her in her election campaigns in my district. She brought so much to her friends and community; she will be missed.

Toelkes family - I am very sorry for your loss. Though it doesn't list it in her obituary, Dixie was the secretary at East Topeka Junior High when I was there. I always remember her fondly and enjoyed working with her in the office as an aide. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
