E. R. Cavanaugh Obituary

Funeral Services celebrating the Life of Captain E. R. Mike Cavanaugh who passed away Monday September 12, 2011 at Florida hospital Flagler, will be Thursday October 6, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Clymer Funeral Home, Palm Coast, Florida. The Family will be receiving guest on Thursday October 12, 2011 beginning at 10:00 A.M. till 12:00 P.M. Elvin was born and raised in Florida and was the owner of Cavanaugh Seafood and Crab Company in Palm Coast. Elvin served in the United States Marine Corp for 20 year and served in Vietnam and Korea, he retired a Master Sergeant. Elvin was a member of the Marine Corps League Toys for Tots Program, the V.F.W Post 8696 in Palm Coast, and the AMVETS. Elvin was predeceased by his wife Rosemary Artzer Cavanaugh; he is survived by his sons Elvin Ray Cavanaugh III of Owings, MD., Carl Michael Cavanaugh of Deland, FL., Michael P. Cavanaugh of Lake Oswego, OR., Patrick Sean Cavanaugh of Topeka, KS.. Daughters Kathleen Shea of Topeka, KS, Kelly Cavanaugh of Topeka, KS. Step sons Gene White of Palm Coast, Robert White and Ron Reagle both of Rock Hill, S.C., Tom Murphy of Charlotte, N.C., and Cory Colvin, Wichita, KS. Step daughters Judy Murray of Palm City, FL., Cindy Powell of Stuart, FL., Tammy Rumer of Port Orange, FL., and Janet Rieman of Roanoke, VA., as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Donations may be made in Capt. E.R. Cavanaugh's name to : The Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program, 44 Woodfield Drive, Palm Coast, Fl. 32164 The Family of Mr. Cavanaugh entrusted the arrangements to Clymer Cremations and Funeral Home. Family members:
I did not know Mike was ill, and shall surely miss the times he and I shared for the last 8 years. He was the first Marine I met when I came to Florida. He was a fine man and a great Marine who did a lot for the children at Christmas. I shall miss him. I look forward to seeing him again on "heaven's streets".May God bless him, and bring you all comfort now. Jack Lincks [ Ret. NYPD / Army]

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. The Corps will not be the same. Mike was a good man and a GREAT Marine. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
