Evelyn Lewis HOLTON- Evelyn Lewis, 90, of Holton, KS passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at The Pines in Holton. She was born March 6, 1927 in Everest, KS, the daughter of Herbert and Sarah (Sawyer) Streeter. Evelyn graduated from Everest High School in 1945. She has lived all of her life in northeast Kansas. Evelyn was a homemaker and farmwife. She was a member of the Evangel United Methodist Church, King s Daughters Sunday School Class and Art and Home Club all in Holton. She married Gale Mellenbruch on May 15, 1945 in Everest; he preceded her in death on August 27, 1975. She married William Buck Lewis on September 23, 1982 in Seneca; he preceded her in death on April 30, 1994. Survivors include 2 sons, Loy Mellenbruch (Karen) of Holton, KS and Earl Mellenbruch (Lori) of Soldier, KS; 2 daughters, Janette Gill (Roger) of Wetmore, KS and Carol Gusenius (Bill) of Lindsborg, KS; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Hiawatha.
