Gregory Paul Wold Gregory Paul Wold, age 69, passed away January 7, 2016. Born in Vermillion, South Dakota, Greg was proud of his Norwegian heritage and of being a South Dakota native. Greg graduated from Topeka West High School in 1965 and from Washburn University in 1994. Greg owned several small businesses over the years. He was a past mayor of Denison, KS. He worked at Topeka State Hospital, H.A.R.T.S and the Menninger Foundation prior to college graduation. Post-graduation, Greg worked as a biologist for Serenata Farms and the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. He was well known for his love of people, nature, the sciences, wood working, music, travel and a good cup of coffee. Greg is survived by his wife, Connie; daughters Kate Wold Stovall, Erin Wold (daughters of Vickie Dotson Wold), Kari Wold and Kristen (and Matthew) Buterbaugh; granddaughter Saige Stovall; his parents Bobbi and Paul Wold; brother Nick (and Jill) Wold; sisters Karen Wold and Shawn (and Bill) Gregory and many other family members and close friends. Greg treasured his family and friends. He was known for adopting his daughters friends and loving them all. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Wold, brother, Kevin and sister, Mary Jane. A service will be held at St. David s Episcopal Church, Topeka, KS, on Thursday, January 14 at 10:00 am. A gathering in the parish hall for coffee and fellowship will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. David s Episcopal Church, Midland Care or research organizations studying angiosarcoma. Gregory Paul Wold

Connie ~ I just heard of Gre's death. I am so sorry for your loss. Greg and I worked together at Menninger. We had fun sharing South Dakota stories and actually both were from northeastern South Dakota. The world will truly miss his kind spirit.

Sorry, I just learned of Greg's passing. He was a great guy. We first met in grade school where he once helped pull me out of one of those deep dark adolescent depressions that kids get stuck in. I don't even think he really remembered. He was just one of those naturally kind people. It's what he did. He was exceptional and he'll be missed.

I worked with Greg at Menninger and was proud to play a part in the benefit for Kristen in 1994. Being around Greg was akin to the emotional state of singing aloud - impossible not to be happy. What a gift of a guy to know, my condolences to you - his loved ones. Doug Tyree
