Jean and I were friends during our student days at Eastman. We shared a close friendship and interest in voice study. Jean was very dedicated and part of her days were spent holding a job in a medical arts building to pay for her voice studies. In her dedication she spent extra time evenings putting in time at her house job. She was valued by her employer and also excelled in her Eastman studies. I had no contact with her after Eastman but I honor the memories I have of Jean´s commitment at the time I knew her. Her family has reason to be proud of her commitment to work and success.

Dr. Sloop was my voice teacher. She was a great teacher, and a fun friend. I loved her literate, anecdotal sense of humor. I still think of all she taught me, and I am still singing everyday thirty years later.

Jean was my babysitter in New Cumberland. I called her father "Pappy". Christmas Eve was always made extra special as Jean would sing in the evening service. Condolances to the family as Jean , Pastor, and Mrs Sloop are remembered fondly by my family.

What a voice! What a kind-hearted friend and most compassionate human being Jean was in our lives. She will be missed but never forgotten in Pennsylvania.

Cousin Jean was always a treat to see at the family reunions, where she could be counted upon to sing for and with us. You'll be missed, Jean. We love you.
