John Shaw Obituary
Topeka - John Edward Shaw, 56, passed away peacefully on July 26th in his hometown of Topeka, Kansas.
He passed away after a valiant battle with cancer. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, John attacked his illness with strength and wanted to spend as much time with loved ones as possible. On his final day, he was surrounded by his family, whom he adored more than anything else in the world.
John was born on October 27, 1964 to Donald & Georgia Shaw. In 1989, John married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Sharon Mitchell. They welcomed two sons together, Nicholas and Lucas.
John always loved to work on all sorts of things and was always there to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He was also known to sniff out good BBQ everywhere he went. He was a parishioner of Mother Teresa Catholic Church and active member of Knights of Columbus.
His passing is preceded by his mother Georgia. He is survived by his wife Sharon; sons Nick (Kerry) and Luke (Olivia); father Donald; and brother Carl.
The rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church 2014 NW 46th St, Topeka KS 66618, where visitation will follow from 5 to 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
