Mary Yungeberg Obituary

WASHINGTON Mary M. (Peg) Yungeberg, 76, of Washington, KS, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, at her home in Washington. Mrs. Yungeberg was recently retired as Director of Washington County Senior Citizens where she had served in this position for the past 27 years. She was previously employed by the USDA, Farmers Home Administration and the Washington County Health Department. She was born Nov. 21, 1928, in Blue Rapids, KS, the daughter of Charles D. and Margaret Wells Jenkins. She was the great-granddaughter of John D. Wells, one of the first settlers of Marshall County. She was married to Gilbert O. Yungeberg on June 15, 1946, at Irving. Mrs. Yungeberg was a member of the Presbyterian Church, American Legion Auxiliary and Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include a son, Charles G. and his wife Brenda, Salina; a daughter, Mary (Midge) Miller and her husband Gene, Washington; a sister, Jeannette Fincham and husband Gene and sister-in-law Virginia Jenkins, both of Blue Rapids; three grandsons, Jamie and his wife Caroline, Washington, Chris and his wife Misty, Salina, and John, Wichita; and six great-grandchildren, Eric, Jordan, Collen, Tessa, Paris and Gavven Yungeberg. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005, at Ward Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Blue Rapids. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday, Aug. 4th.
