Max Dorr Obituary

Max C. Dorr, 82, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012 at his home in Osage City. He was born on June 27, 1930 in Osage City, the son of Walter and Mary Croucher Dorr. Max had lived all of his life near or in Osage City. Max had served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean War aboard the U.S.S. Ajax. He then worked as a T.V. repairman for 17 years and then was a forklift operator for Hallmark Cards in Osage City for 18 years. He was a member of the Osage City American Legion Post #198 and had been a past member of the Masonic Lodge. On May 20, 1956, Max was married to Kilena Curley in Osage City. Max was preceded in death by four brothers, Dale Dorr, Lawrence Dorr, Wayne Dorr, Jim Dorr; his sister, Doris Scoville; a grandson, Jeremiah and a great-grandson, Austin. Max is survived by his wife Kilena of the home; his two sons, Max Kelly Dorr (Marcia) of Leavenworth and David Dorr of Osage City; a daughter, Robin Dorr (LaRue) of Osage City; two brothers, Tom Dorr of Osage City and Jack Dorr of Topeka; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Max will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 20 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Osage City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Osage City American Legion Post #198 or the Lieber Library of Osage City and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS. 66451.
