Mildred Mummert

Mildred Mummert, age 97, lifelong resident of Topeka, passed away October 15, 2012. She was born February 22, 1915 to George W. and Bessie T. (Rhule) Warren. She married Carrel B. Mummert on August 16, 1941 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1997. She was also preceded by her sisters and brothers, Georgena, Mary, Audrey, Fred, Bill, John D., Don and Elmer. She is survived by her brother Joe T. Warren, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Mildred loved the outdoors and spent many summers at Lake Wabaunsee entertaining her nieces and nephews at the cabin built by her husband, brothers and nephews. She spent countless hours tending to her lawn and flower beds which were her pride and joy. Mildred s quirky sayings and determination will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be held at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave. on Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 12:30 1:30PM. A graveside service will follow at 2:00PM at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor s choice.
