Nancy Warren Obituary

Nancy C. Warren
Topeka - Nancy C. Warren, 81, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born January 13, 1940 in Mars Hill, Maine, the daughter of George and Glenna Hammond. She often proclaimed to many that she was a "maniac" because she was proud of being from Maine. She earned a BS Degree in Nursing from Alderson Broaddus in Philippi, West Virginia. She worked as an RN at Stormont-Vail Hospital and Overbrook Nursing Home. She was a member of Terra Heights Baptist Church. She married Darryl Warren on June 28, 1963 in Topeka, Kansas. They were married for 51 years until he passed in 2015. She is survived by her children, Stephanie Ellen Patterson, Heather Ann Siemens, Nathaniel Ethan Warren, Heidi Elise Thies, eight grandchildren and one brother, Stephen Hammond. A celebration of life will be held at a later date due to the pandemic. In lieu of flowers, please consider giving a gift to the American Heart Association to help those who suffer from heart conditions or the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House, a place Nancy grew to love. I was Nancy's Pastor for 8 years. She was a delight. We both shared a love of books and reading. She made the best hot cross rolls. My prayers are with the family during this time. God Bless

To the familIes: I am very sorry for your loss. Nancy was a very out going person. She would be on her neighborhood walks; we had many a conversation out in the street. She loved to talk and tell stories. Praise God for the blessed assurance you will see her again.
