Patricia Patty Louise Keizer

Patricia Patty Louise (Perrin) Keizer, 56, Denver, CO died on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. Born April 16, 1952 in Topeka, KS, was the daughter of Lawrence (Mike) Perrin and Leona (Schreiner) Perrin. Patty graduated from Hayden High School, Class of 1969 and attended classes at Washburn University in Topeka and Regis University in Denver. As passionate about her career as she was other aspects of her life, Patty was employed by a business consulting firm in Denver. Patty was a member of several Colorado professional organizations, including TIE, a non-profit organization nurturing entrepreneurial spirit. She was recognized for her efforts, being honored as volunteer of the year. Patty was an avid sports enthusiast as a participant and spectator. She excelled with fearless abandon in road cycling balanced by peaceful strengthening of body and spirit through yoga. A tri-athlete, Patty even traveled to the Caribbean to compete in the US Virgin Islands Triathlon. She tried virtually every sport at least once with enthusiasm, and may well have been KU basketball's biggest fan in Colorado. Family was the center of Patty's wide circle of life. Married to Erik Keizer on November 21, 1987 in Topeka, he survives of the home. Other survivors include her sons Jason Schroeder of Denver, CO; Bryce Schroeder of Denver, CO; step-children, Corey Keizer of Glendale, CA and Margot Zigmont and her husband Michael of New York, NY; her mother, Leona Perrin, a sister, Judith Collins and her husband, Tom; brother, Jerry Perrin and his wife Sheila all of Topeka; brother, Mark Perrin and his wife Jane, of Dallas, TX. Her father, Lawrence Perrin preceded Patty in death. Patty will lie in state from 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2008 at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd., Topeka, where the family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. A parish rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial celebrating Patty's life and spirit will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Mater Dei Holy Name Church, 1114 SW 10th St., Topeka.
