Shirley Haas Obituary

Shirley Ann (Haskins) Haas Shirley Ann Haas (Haskins) died in her home on December 15, 2017 in Topeka, Ks. She was 64.

Mrs. Haas was born on October 20, 1953 in Brockton, Massachusetts to her parents, Walter Clifford Haskins and Constance Carolyn Reid. She married Raymond Haas in 1990. The Haas' lived in Topeka where Raymond worked for the Topeka Fire Department and Shirley worked for The Department of Veterans Affairs. She retired in 2016 and dedicated her remaining time to her family, home and garden.

Mrs. Haas is survived by her husband, Raymond Haas of Topeka, Ks; her daughter Pamela Lutz of Topeka, Ks; her daughter Heather Lutz of Burlingame, Ks; her son and daughter-in-law , Jason and Jennifer Lutz of Holton, Ks; her step daughter Debra Striplin of Pittsburg, Ks and her sisters Sharon Lister, Sondra Hobbs and Deborah Hobbs. She was loved and will be greatly missed by 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her "Grammy" Gwen Reid, whom she had a very special relationship with.

The family will honor Mrs. Haas with a private burial at Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date.

My deepest condolences to Shirley's family during this very sad time. I only worked with Shirley for about a year but found her to be a professional, ethical and moral person. She had a great sense of humor and always did what was right. I'm sure she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

What a woman Shirley was and there was never a dull moment. I will miss her greatly and am sad to not be able to join her anymore for a cold one at the 20's. I am grateful Shirley crossed my path in life, she taught me many things.

I had the pleasure of meeting Shirley in 2005, she was my first supervisor at the HRC, she was strict but she was good, sweet, kind, silly, funny and i too am going to miss the heck out of her. you know she took me to the emergency room and stayed there with me! Words cannot say how much I'm going to MISS you Shirley. My heart is so broken, it's a hurt that I've never felt before. We have been through so much together and apart. You were always there for me. I love you so much. I'm going to miss our talks and getting your advice, hearing your stories.
