Vera Lorraine Wright

Mrs. Vera Lorraine Wright, 83, Topeka, died Saturday morning, March 19, 2005, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born July 14, 1921, in North Topeka, the daughter of Fay and Lilly Bahm Swader. Vera was a clerk at Wonder Bread before she retired. She was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. She married Kenneth Carl Wright on April 2, 1938, in Lawrence. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1992. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Constance Frye, in May 1998; a great-grandson, Daniel Boyd, in November 1998; and a brother, Ora Swader, in 1990. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Denice and Rob Large, Topeka, and Sharon and Ken Marquardt, Denver; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank L. “Butch and Vicki Wright, Mentor, Ohio; a sister, Delores Silversmith, Topeka; a brother, Bernie Swader, Topeka; eight grandchildren, Chris, Renae, Dan, Darren, Laura, Kevin, Jason and Kyle; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. A fun eral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2005, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery. Vera will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at the funeral chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care, 200 S.W.
