Dear Bruce and Bart,

I am very sorry to hear about your father's death. I knew Bill for many years during the 40's and 50's when he was living in Topeka. I also knew his parents extremely well from the many times that my parents and his visited each other and I would always go along too. Bill's father and mine knew each other for many years since both of them worked for the Kansas Highway Department. Dollye was a very close friend of my mother's because they both played in the same bridge club in Topeka.
Billl was a wonderful person with a good sense of humor and he always beat me at cards when the two of us would play. He will be sincerely missed by all of us who knew him. You have my deepest sympathy with his loss.

With best regards,

Robert R. Ireland, Jr.
