Gary Annan 1938-2022 Gary Annan, 84, of Coin, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, December 27 , 2022, at Clarinda Regional Health Center following a long battle with Parkinson's. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Nishna Valley Christian Church, Shenandoah, Iowa with Pastor Jack Langley officiating. Visitation with the family will be held 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 31, 2022 at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in the Polsley Cemetery, rural Yorktown, Iowa at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 31, 2022. Memorials may be directed to the Parkinson Foundation. Gary Dwight Annan was born May 19, 1938 in Auburn, Nebraska to John Frederick Annan and Martha Hilma (Henning) Annan. Gary grew up on a farm in The Coin area and graduated from Coin High School in 1956. Following high school, he attended Northwest Missouri State College and Peru State College. On July 21, 1962, Gary was united in marriage to Alice Faye Yates in St. Louis, Missouri. They were blessed with four daughters, Daphne, Heather, Deirdre, Danae Aimee. Gary worked for Western Electric in Omaha, Nebraska from 1960-1973. He returned to his love of farming in 1974 and continued to farm until his retirement. Gary also worked at Eaton Corporation until 2008. Gary was a member of the United Methodist Church. Along with his love of farming, Gary enjoyed watching football and especially enjoyed following the grandkids with their sporting activities. He also enjoyed playing cards at the Polsley Gas Station, bowling, and having coffee with friends at the Coin Community Hall. Preceding Gary in death were his daughter, Danae Aimee Annan; parents, John and Martha Annan. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Alice Faye Annan of Coin, Iowa; daughters, Daphne Bix (Jon) of Coin, Iowa, Heather Archer (Cale) of Maryville, Missouri and Deirdre Twyman (Brent) of Shenandoah, Iowa; grandchildren, Noah (Carly) Bix, Elijah (Allison) Bix, Haley Bix, Danae Burroughs, Dagen Price, Jude Archer, Jax Archer, Logan Twyman, Lyndi Twyman; great granddaughter, June Bix; sisters, Joyce Batemen of Bettendorf, Iowa and Lois (Gary) Blume of Clarinda, Iowa; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
