Arthur Broome Obituary
Batesville
Arthur "Art" Vernon Broome, 83, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at his home in Batesville, MS. He was a member of Batesville First United Methodist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher. He was also a member of Mississippi State University M-Club Alumni Association, Batesville Rotary Club, and Batesville Lions Club. He was a Boy Scout leader and Veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served as a 1st Lt. jet fighter pilot.
Mr. Broome is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Barbara Little Broome, of Batesville, MS; two daughters, Roxanne Broome Brown (Steven) of Coldwater, MS and Danielle Broome Willis (John David) of Batesville, MS; one son, Bartly "Bart" Little Broome (Christy) of Batesville, MS; two brothers John Carlock Broome (Hilda) of Pope, MS; William Larry Broome (Jane) of Oxford, MS; and four grandchildren, Hillary Brown, Dane Broome, John Wesley Willis, and Jennifer Brown Minor (Johnny).
He was preceded in death by his parents, The Late Thomas Vernon and Louise Marshall Broome and two grandchildren, The Late Brett Broome and The Late Camille Willis.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 12, 2013, from 5-8 p.m. at Batesville First United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 13, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the church, with interment following in Batesville Magnolia Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be sent to Batesville First United Methodist Church, PO Box 707, Batesville, MS 38606. Dickins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
