Bobbie Jean Sullivan Pantall

Ridgeland - Bobbie Jean Sullivan Pantall, 94, of Ridgeland, MS went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 30, 2021. Bobbie was born September 16, 1926 in Shivers, Simpson County, Mississippi. She met her husband Ralph M. Pantall in 1944 and lived in Jackson and Ridgeland during their marriage of 68 years. She loved and cared deeply for her family, church and community. She will be missed dearly.

Bobbie Jean loved to cook and especially enjoyed seeing friends and family enjoy her cooking, gathered at the family table. Her hobbies included gardening and word puzzles. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She had a very real love for family pets and Yorkie Jock will miss her.

Living in Jackson, Bobbie was a Sunday School Teacher at Boling Street Methodist Church and after a move to Ridgeland in 1978, she became a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ridgeland. She shared a very strong and devout belief in prayer and reading the Bible, touching many friends and neighbors. She worked as a buyer for S.N. Thomas & Sons beginning in 1962 and retiring in 2005.

She is survived by her children: son Thomas H. Pantall (Pat) of Sevierville, TN, daughters Joyce Pantall Douglas (Steve) of Madison, MS and Carol Pantall Chism (Robert) of Columbus, GA; grandsons: Ryan Chism (Ashley), Brent Carpenter (Jesse), Clark Lindsey (Angela), Craig Douglas (Salla), Brent Douglas (Anthea); granddaughters: Melissa Hall, Brandy Rios (Jayson), Jamie Bridges Gresham (Ben), Colene Carpenter, Erin Douglas, Nirvana Karakas; great grandchildren: Jacob (Joanna) and Emma Cutler and William Rios, Breanna and Austin Hall; Abby and Benjamin Carpenter; Edie Grace and Emma Chism; Kayla (Aaron) Nidiffer; Patrick (Katie) and Jacob (Erica) Lindsey. Great great grandchildren: Liam Hall; Clark Isaac Lindsey; Hayden Douglas; Cobie and Jordie Douglas; and Rylan Thurston. She is also survived by her brother John W. Sullivan (Rena), Sisters Mary Edwina Bryant (Ronny) and Ina Sullivan Kemp; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Bobbie Jean was preceded in death by her husband Ralph M. Pantall; parents, Beadie T. and Louella Sullivan; siblings: Helen Cliburn, David Sullivan, Cary Sullivan, Nellie Coleman; and grandson, Christopher Chism.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Parkway Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS, 10:00 - 11:00 am followed by the Funeral service. The interment will be at Jessamine Cemetery, Ridgeland, MS.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Ridgeland, MS.

It was such a pleasure to know Mrs. Pantall. She taught me how to make delicious fig preserves from figs she gave me from her yard. I really enjoyed the time I had with her and my fig preserves! I have come to love her and her sweet family. She will be greatly missed.
