Growing up with Carol in Waynesboro was a true delight. In all of those years, I can't remember a single time ever seeing her without that beautiful smile and positive attitude. Who would ever have thought this small-town girl could have made such an impact on so many areas of the world. Such a tribute to such a deserving individual. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. God bless each of you.

Professor West taught me invaluable lessons in legal research and in the basic principles of human relations. I am honored to have been a student of hers at MC Law. She was a true jewel to the legal profession, and to humanity. She will be so greatly missed.

carol was my third cousin, once removed, and we shared a love of family history. i had the pleasure of meeting her about six years ago at a young family reunion in oakland ne. the large young family in Nebraska was "founded" by edvinna (brand) and andrew young. i was related to carol through the brand branch. they had married in ohio, then traveled to nebraska territory in the 1850s. thus began a fascinating and rich history. carol and i had exchanged many emails over the years as well as genealogical information. i will miss her. my sincerest condolences to all of her family and friends.

I learned a great deal from Carol when she was on the MLC Board. She was active in Beta Phi Mu, when I was initiated in a lovely ceremony in her home. God bless her and her family.

I had known Carol many years through the Mississippi Genealogical Society and other societies I attended in Jackson. I heard her give several programs on law. I once told her that I believed I could have become a lawyer with her as the professor. She was delightful person.
