It's still so unbelievable. 15 years now, & it still seems like yesterday. The pain, still cuts like a knife & isn't any easier. When I pass your house, it seems like you should still be there. But, I know you're around us, especially, when we call your name & I know Studley & the others are safe, at peace & in your arms. Merry Christmas, in Heaven & Happy New Year too. Until we meet again. Love & Miss You. Bah-

Well-Yet, another year has passed. It just seems like yesterday, when we got that dreaded phone call, Dec. 20, 2008. & here it is 2021, already. It just don't seem possible. 13 years. Mother & I knew something wasn't right, after our Thanksgiving dinner. When we go buy your house, it seems like we could still walk in & you'd be there & the kitties. & I miss our phone calls & e-mail shares, to your old [email protected] After we got the call & Mother-your sister, Barbara Bliss-Quirk, me (your neice-Sylvia Quirk-Brown); my husband (William Brown); & our son, (your great-nephew), Alex Brown, went from our Vicksburg, MS., to your Jackson, to claim your body; it is something that will remain etched in our minds & hearts forever. That hour drive, seemed like, it took forever to get there. Well, I just wanted to pay my respects, in some way, again. We love & miss you so much. Love, Huggs & Kisses. Bah-- :) See you later.

I love & miss you, dear, Aunt Carrie. I had to stop & think how many years it's been now. 12. It still, just don't seem possible. It just seems like yesterday, we told you goodbye, after your Thanksgiving dinner, here; not knowing, that would be the last time we would see you. I've been thinking about you a lot today & the last few days & was actually looking through a couple of your books today. I know you're around & will hold you in my heart, forever. I wish you & the family a Merry Christmas, in Heaven. XXX OOO Baha :)

My deepest sympathies to the entire family. Carrie and I were best friends in high school and made lots of memories. She was always laughing and had that unique way of putting two fingers to her lips when she laughed. God bless you and may you have His peace during this time.

My sister Ruth and I are saddened to learn of our cousin Carrie's untimely death. We remember with bittersweet fondness endless play together on Bliss Hill as kids. Carrie was the unforgetable inspiration for a very forgetable poem of mine entitled:
Ode to Her Foot
Lament! That such a lovely foot
Can be so rarely found.
Oh how difficult she must put
That damask to the ground.
That I am fortunate to be..
Rejoice!..one of those very few
Who with my very eyes did see
That foot without the shoe.
She regarded that attention, I remember well, as a hoot, and always smiled when reminded later of its silliness. Rest in peace, Carrie.

Hello;
Carrie was my Aunt. Even thought she always told us: "Just call me Carrie." We're still in shock & received her ashes Tuesday 12-23-08. She was such a special person & will be greatly missed. Our family thanks all of you who have sent e-mails, phone calls, food, cards & most of all-shown the love you had for Carrie. Each of you touched her life in a loving way & she was grateful to have had, such caring friends. I'd be glad to talk to any of you & share Carrie memories.
Love & Huggs to all,
Sylvia

I have known Carrie for 38 years and everytime we met she would greet me with a hug and kiss on the cheek. We would run into each when we were both travelling and alot times we would eat dinner. In life you remember alot of people and then they fade away, but Carrie will always be remembered by me and her many friends. I will really miss Carrie and that GREAT BIG SMILE and HUG.
