Charles Knight Obituary
Madison - Pastor Charles Knight was born in Bentonia, MS, on February 25, 1946. He served as the pastor of Greater St. James M. B. Church in Jackson, MS, for the last 42 years. Pastor Charles Knight is survived by: two loving daughters, NaKesha and Tara; two grandchildren; ten brothers and sisters; and a wonderful church family. He departed this world to take his rest on June 18, 2018, surrounded by family and friends.
Funeral service for Pastor Charles Knight is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Greater St. James M. B. Church, 1301 Jones Ave., Jackson, MS, 39204. Visitation is Friday, June 22, 2018, from 2 - 7 p. m. (family present 6 - 7 p.m.) at Lakeover Funeral Home, 1525 Beasley Rd., Jackson, MS 39206.

You are a childhood memory of mine. Going to your home and so many children but for some reason you are the one that I always remembered. You were always friendly and your smile I remember to this day. That was many years ago but those days and those memories are some I will never forget. I love you Pastor Knight. You were like a second father to me. Words can not express the grief I feel that you are gone. You were a good shepherd and I know your legacy and memories will continue on. Thank you for being an excellent leader, person, and pastor. Thank you for giving me a solid foundation for my faith and I will miss you truly. St. James will always have a place in my heart. There aren't any words to truly express the depth of grief, sorrow and sympathy I feel for my pastor, Charles Knight and his entire family. He will always be remembered in my family as a pastor who truly loved and cared for those he shepherded. He has been there not only for my family but for all the members at Greater St. James M. B. Church for 42 yrs. during the good times, the sad times, and the in- between times. We shall never forget all he has done for our church and community...a man of God...gone too soon...loved forever!
