Chester Tullos Obituary

Chester Jack Tullos, Jr.

Pearl - Chester Jack Tullos, Jr. 64, long-time resident of Pearl, MS and member of Paul Truitt Memorial Baptist Church unexpectedly passed away June 6, 2018. Visitation services will be held Monday, June 11, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at Baldwin Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 10:00 am at Paul Truitt Memorial Baptist Church with visitation starting at 9:00 am before the service. Graveside service and interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.

Mr. Tullos was born May 17, 1954 to the late Chester Jack Tullos, Sr. and Edna Ann Tullos of Pearl. He had one brother, the late George Clayton Tullos of Pearl, and is survived by his two children, Shane Tullos of Pearl, and Kristy Tullos of Pearl, and his three sisters, Teresa Tullos Russell (Maurice) of Puckett, Pam Tullos Baldwin (Ronnie Sr.) of Raleigh, and Becky Tullos Jones (Troy) of Pearl. He is also survived by his special friend and companion of 12 years, Anna Ranow of Red Lion, Pennsylvania; aunts, Pat Tullos Nichols (David) of Raleigh, Virginia Tullos of Carthage, and Maggie Brown of Terry; nephews, Robbie Russell (Vickie) of Pearl, Mark Russell (Jennifer) of Puckett, Ronnie Baldwin, Jr. (Whit) of Raleigh, and Jake Jones of Pearl; great nephews and nieces Logan, Dylan, Robin and Ruby; grand dogs, Karlee and Wrigley and his faithful little companion Molly.

Mr. Tullos worked in the trucking industry for 46 years and was currently working for Waters International. He was traveling to the MS Trucking Association Convention, an event he annually attended, when he lost his life here on earth and traveled to his Heavenly Home.

Lovingly referred to so many times as "Coach," "Captain Jack," or "Uncle Jack," Mr. Tullos was a fighter and a survivor. He was a leukemia survivor of 21 years and had battled numerous illnesses and health issues since, but was always optimistic and unwavering in his faith about any obstacle that came his way. He always carried himself with a larger than life presence that made everyone love him. He loved LIFE, loved his family, coaching, hunting (mainly because of the fellowship of his "Red Dog brothers"), riding motorcycles, spending time with his former classmates, spending time at Eagle Lake, mission trips with the youth in his church and mentoring young people, and the Ole Miss Rebels. But, he lived for Pearl Pirate Football and any other Pirate event he could attend with a full supply of yelling, cheering and encouragement. He loved his mama's cooking and had been on a mission since she passed in 2009 to replicate many of her dishes. He loved outings that involved Abner's chicken, Sonny's bar-b-que, Crawfish Barn, and a "a good burger." The reason he loved all of these things? Because he loved people, and all of those pastimes centered around people. He always wanted life to be one big party and did his best to make sure it was. A family friend made the comment that Jack loved every kid in Pearl….and, he did. Always having a joke on his lips and a smile on his face, he was adored and loved by all who knew him. He made the most of every second of the dash between his dates and truly left us with a legacy that will live forever in our hearts.

I used to work with Jack back in the mid seventies at Rebel Ford. He was always a cutup, but everybody liked him. We'll miss you old friend.

Always smiling, laughing. He wanted every one to be happy that was around. It was easy to be happy when I was around him. He loved to talk and it didn't matter who it was, if you didn't know him you would soon. Jack has always been there and seeing him made things better. Jack you are going to be missed by so many. I am just one of many missing you. Love you.

I am so saddened to hear about the passing of Jack. Although Jack was a few years ahead of me in school we always had such wonderful talks when we ran into each other. I had the honor of waiting on Jack at the Bank for many years. When I retired four years ago from Banking- one thing I knew I would miss was seeing all the customers. Jack and I would have wonderful conversations at the Bank. He would laugh-I would laugh. Jack will be missed by all of his Loved ones. May Our Lord And Savior Wrap His Arms Around Jack's Loved Ones and Guide Them Through The Tough Times Ahead.

Jack was one of those people that if you didn't like him right away, there was something wrong with you..His smile and laugh leaves such an impact on so many. His love of family and friends cannot be measured. I will forever be thankful and blessed to have had him in my life for almost 50 years. I will forever be grateful for his love and words of encouragement for me for so many times but especially for one that happened almost 3 years ago when I lost my dad and when my house was broken into right after that. Jack did NOT ASK if he could help me when I had to back home for the first time after having been robbed. He lovingly TOLD he how it was going to be, He followed me home and was the first one in the door. We sat in my sunroom talking and crying and sharing stories and he would not leave me until he was certain I felt safe. I will always love him not only for that special time but for all the dinners and reunions he helped plan and attended. Jack will hold a special place in my heart forever. RIP my sweet friend..I love and miss you. Praying for all his friends and family during this difficult time.
