Doris Strong Obituary

Doris Edgar Strong, 78, a homemaker and retired bookkeeper for Madison General Hospital of Canton, died Monday, April 20, 2009, at Hospice Ministries. She grew up in Sharon, MS. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm today at Breeland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Breeland Funeral Home Chapel with interment in the Canton Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Patrick and Alberta Edgar; and brothers, G. B. Edgar, Charles Edgar, Julius Edgar, and Joseph P. Edgar.
Survivors include: her husband of 59 years, Arthur Kehle Strong; son, Keith Strong and his wife, Emily; daughters, Carol Lovelace and Amy Propst; six grandchildren, Sharon Coon, Sarah Canterbury, Bryan and Brett Lovelace, Dylan and Tanner Propst; three great grandchildren; and her devoted; and loving sister, Peggy Jean Edgar.

Sorry to hear about Doris. I worked with Doris in the hospital business office around 1966 and also knew Peggy. My father Hite was on the hospital board for many years and spoke highly of Doris and Peggy. We lost him back in October.My thoughts and prayers are with you all and hope you find comfort and peace.
