Emma Hayes Obituary

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Psalm 139:13-14
Emma Grace Hayes, born March 29, 2007, went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2007, at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, due to pre-surgical complications from a congenital heart defect. Emma Grace went peacefully into God's presence in the arms of her father and mother, Robbie and Emily Hayes of Southaven, Mississippi, and formerly of Madison, Mississippi.
Although, Emma Grace faced many physical challenges during her short life, she touched the lives of countless individuals and was a vessel of God's love and light to her family, friends, and all those who cared for her. Because, Emma Grace was unable to be taken home, the special love and care she received from all who attended her at Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women, LeBonheur Children's Hospital, and Vanderbilt Children's Hospital was deeply appreciated. Emma Grace's family is particularly grateful to Dr. Vijaya Joshi for his care and support through many difficult days.
Along with her parents, Emma Grace is survived by her "big brother" Rob Hayes, age 3; maternal grandparents, Dr. & Mrs. Bill Turner of Malden, Missouri; paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Bobby Hayes of Liberty, Mississippi; great grandmothers, Mrs. R.B. Schaffer of Mantee, Mississippi and Mrs. Harry Turner of Lilbourn, Missouri; uncle, Kyle Turner of St. Charles, Missouri; aunt, Susan and uncle, Dade Davis of Watson, Louisiana, and cousins Payten Robertson, Keely Davis, Julia Davis, and Reagan Davis and many precious extended family members and friends.
Emma Grace was welcomed into heaven by her paternal great grandparents, Clyde and Julia Wilson, and Henry and Dollie Mae Hayes; cousin, Mitch Moore; her maternal great grandfathers, R.B. Schaffer and Harry Turner; and great-great grandmother Emma Schaffer for whom she was named.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, July 24, 2007, from 6:00-9:00pm at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, Mississippi. The service will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 11:00am at Pinelake Baptist Church, 6071 Highway 25 Brandon, Mississippi. Interment will follow at Parkway Memorial Cemetery, 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, Mississippi. Prior to the service, visitation will be held at 10:00am at the church.
Designated memorials may be sent to LeBonheur Children's Hospital-Pediatric Cardiac Care, 50 Dunlap Memphis, Tennessee 38103 or Central Mississippi Down Syndrome Society, P.O. Box 2189 Brandon, Mississippi 39043.

Little Emma's eternal soul is in a wonderful place. If she can't be in your arms, it is at least comforting to know what a wonderful place she is in. I will keep you all in my prayers.

My deepest condolences to you and your family in the loss of your angel. How blessed you all are to have had a share in the joys of heaven if only for just a short while. Emma Grace was a special angel sent from HIM to give all those she touched a tiny glimpse of HIS love for us. My prayers are with you all. My brother who will soon be 50 years old is also a Downs angel.

I am so sorry to read about your loss and I know this is a sad time. There a only a few things I am sure about in this life-one of which is that this life is only the doorway to the next one. In the next life, we will have no sickness, no sadness and will know only joy! That little one is in the arms of our Lord and is having so much fun now, you will see her again.

MY HEART IS SADDEN AND BROKEN TO HEAR OF YOUR PRECIOUS LOST, BUT EMMA GRACE IS NOT SUFFERING ANYMORE ALL THE ANGLES THAT SURROUNDED HER WITH LOVE GAVE HER STRENGTH TO EARN HER WINGS, ALTHOUGHT IN SUCH A SHORT TIME - YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT YOU HAVE A PRECIOUS LITTLE ANGLE THATS HOVERING OVER MOMMY, DADDY AND BIG BROTHER ROB NOW. I PRAY THAT GOD WRAPS HIS LOVING ARMS AROUND YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN YOUR TIMES AND EVERYTIME YOUR'RE IN NEED. MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND REMEMBER EMMA GRACE SHE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU AND REMEMBER TO NEVER QUESTION GOD, IT WAS DONE FOR A REASON. MY PARENTS DEPARTED FROM THIS EARTH AND THE HURT I THOUGHT I WOULD NEVER GET OVER, I COULDN'T UNDERSTAND IT AT THE TIME, BUT I LIVED AND THINGS BEGAN TO HAPPEN IN LIFE THAT I COULDN'T EXPLAIN AND I HAD A DREAM ONE NIGHT AND I SAW MY MOTHER AND FATHER HOVERING OVER ME HOLDING HANDS SMILING AND THEY TOLD ME NOT TO GRIEVE ANYMORE, I HAVE TWO ANGLES THAT WATCHES OVER ME AND ITS TRUE PLEASE BELIEVE ME ITS TRUE. YOU MIGHT NOT SEE HER BUT SHE WILL BE AROUND YOU AT ALL TIMES, LOOK FOR SOMETHING SWEET, LIKE A LITTLE BIRD OR A BUTTERFLY SOMETHING DELICATE THEN YOU WILL KNOW THAT SHES AROUND YOU, YOUR PAIN WILL EASE BUT ITS GONNA TAKE TIME - AND TIME WILL HEAL YOU. I DIDN'T BELIEVE IT BUT IT HAPPENED, I'M A LIVING WITNESS. GOD BLESS YOU
