James Catchings Obituary
Jackson, MS - McKinney TX - James Brownridge Catchings was born in Jackson, MS on September 3, 1974. He was the third of four children from the union of Howard and Danella Catchings.
He attended North Jackson Elementary, Powell Junior High and Callaway High School. After receiving his diploma, he attended Jackson State University and graduated in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. After earning his degree, James gained employment with WorldCom. For a number of years, he worked in collections at ITT Technical Institute. In 2008, he began working for Terminix as a salesperson, a position he held until his untimely departure. James passed away suddenly at the age of 43 in McKinney, TX. He is survived by his parents Howard and Danella Catchings and wife Kischa Jenkins Catchings, his children, Alexia Genise and Daylan Jamal all of McKinney, TX; one sister Sebrena Tillman(Reginald) of Jackson, MS; two brothers, Howard Douglas Catchings, IV (Michelle) of Pearl, MS; and Daniel Catchings of Wylie, TX, father and mother in law, Joe and Alice Jenkins of Ruth, MS; Sisters-in-law, Schemeka Turner of Jackson, MS, Alicha Jenkins of Houston, TX and Angela Jenkins of Ruth, MS; Brother-in-law, Anthony Thomas (Rebecca) of Terry, MS and host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends. Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., Blacks Chapel M.B. Church with burial in Garden Memorial Park. Family and friends hour will be Thursday from 6-7:00 p.m., Westhaven.

My heart aches for Jamie´s family and friends. Such a wonderful young man gone way too soon. I did not have the pleasure of knowing Jamie, but his beloved father was my 5th grade teacher at Walton Elementary. Jamie´s parents got married while I was Mr. Catching´s student. My prayers always include those who are mourning. May the Peace of Christ abide with you all.

My sincere condolences to the Catchings family on the loss of your beloved husband, father, son and brother, Jamie. As a former student at Walton Elementary of Mr. Howard Catchings, I have fond memories of him and his teachings. My daily prayers always include those of us who are grieving souls whose hearts are broken due to the loss of a dear loved one. May the Peace of Christ be with you all.

"Catch" was a great guy. Wonderful sense of humor, great smile, and a very hard worker. He was so in love with his babies. We are all shocked and saddened to hear of his untimely departure. Praying for his wife, children, Danny, and the rest of the family for comfort and peace in this time of terrible loss. You will be missed greatly friend.
