James Shamblin Obituary
Vicksburg - James Wiley Shamblin, 84, passed away on January 18, 2018 at St. Dominic's Hospital. He was born on May,17, 1933 in Harrisonburg, La. to Omega and Lottie Mae Shamblin. From Harrisonburg, the family moved to Vicksburg, MS where James grew up.
Mr. Shamblin graduated from Mississippi College, with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. He enjoyed painting, hunting, fishing, and Bible study, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Madison, the Joy Sunday School class and the Mississippi Watercolor Society.
Mr. Shamblin was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Alta Mae Klaus, niece and nephew, Sylvain Scott Klaus and Stacey Kay Klaus.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sue Jennings Shamblin, his daughters Ginger Estala (Tommy) and Paula Lester (Stephen); Grandchildren Leslee Ryan Green (Jason), Ted Buck, Jr. (Lauren), James Buck, Heather Schoonover, and Emily Johnson; several great grandchildren; his sister, Carol Ann Oakman (Robert E. "Doc"); niece, Stephanie Peets (Brad), and nephew, Chris Oakman, and nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Ridgecrest Baptist Church on Monday, January 22, 2018, with visitation at 10:00 and service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Madison Mississippi.
