Flora
James H. "Jim" Whitaker, 69, passed from this life Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Hospice Ministries, Ridgeland.
Visitation is 12:00-2:00pm Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with interment in Bethel Cemetery in Flora.
Mr. Whitaker retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years as an information specialist/photographer. He was also employed for 19.5 years as an information specialist with the Civil Service. He was a member of Simmons Memorial Baptist Church in Flora, the Masonic Lodge and the V.F.W.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Marchant Whitaker; son, James H. Whitaker; daughter Patty Book; step-sons, Jerry Bowen and Scott Bishop; step-daughter, Sherry Marchant; sister, Fredia A. Ketterman; and 8 grandchildren.
