On April 12, 1966, she married her longtime boyfriend, Toby Cook, in a wedding at the First Methodist church in Hamburg, Arkansas, with her father officiating.

Judy and her family lived in Yazoo City, MS from 1967 until 1988, then moved to the Jackson, MS area. Judy was employed for a number of years in the party rental business, first with McGraw Rental in Ridgeland, MS, and later with "Top It Off" in Jackson, MS.

She is survived by her husband of almost 52 years, Toby Cook of Brandon, MS, and her daughters, Laura Walls (Gary) of Ocean Springs, MS, Carla Diffenderfer (Larry) of Durham, NC, and Amie Fulton (Chris) of Brandon, MS; her grandson, Erich Walls of Grenada, MS; her father, Carlos Martin of Brandon, MS, and her brother, Ron Martin of Brandon, MS. She is also survived by her niece, nephew, aunts, uncles and many cousins, who were all very special to her.
