Ken Turbville Obituary

Ken Turbville

Florence

Kenneth Dean Turbville, 70, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016 after a strong and courageous battle against a brain tumor.

Ken was born March 10, 1945 to the late Willie Thomas and Agnes Little Turbville in Walnut Grove, MS. He married Ann Coker, his high school sweetheart on June 26, 1965. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this summer. Together they had two children, Robin (Keith) Boteler of Florence and Jeff (Paige) Turbville of Madison.

Ken lived for his family, mostly his four grandchildren: Dylan and Brennan Boteler and Bailey and Cassidy Jo Turbville. He enjoyed watching them excel in all their activities. He was their biggest fan whether it was baseball, soccer, golf, cheering, softball, rodeo or showing livestock in the 4H. He also enjoyed teaching them to love hunting and nature.

Ken grew up in Scott County. He attended Harperville High School and East Central Junior College. He was a member of the US Army Reserve and was retired from the Area Maintenance Support Activity (AMSA, Department of Defense). He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Teddy, Billy Wayne and McKinley Turbville. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his sister, Marie Ray of Edinburg and sister-in-law, Lillian Turbville of Jackson.

We will celebrate the life of Ken in a service at 1:00 PM Friday, February 26th at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM.
