Kristopher Pitts Obituary
Services will be held at Springs of Praise World Outreach Center in Crystal Springs on Friday, December 11, 2009. Visitation will be held 9 am – 11 am with a memorial service beginning at 11 am. Jimmy Parker and Pastor Darrel Blankenship will be officiating. Stringer Family Funeral Services in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.
Kris grew up in Hazlehurst and attended Union Academy in Georgetown where he played football, basketball, and ran track. Kris never met a stranger and had a very loving personality which positively affected everyone around him. He would never let you leave without a big hug followed by "I love you." Kris was loved by many people and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his father, Jerry Pitts, Jr.; mother, Janice Rutledge Pitts; birth-mother, Paula Clark; brother, Garry Pitts; sisters, Jessica Pitts and Samantha Norman Ashley; paternal grandparents, Jerry Pitts Sr. and Janice Sarrett Pitts; maternal grandparents, Harry Rutledge and Janet Vardaman Rutledge; niece, Chloe Partheymuller; nephew, Austin Pitts. Other immediate family members include: Paul and Debbie Pitts McCain, Patty Pitts Watson, Larry and Susie Pitts, Michael and Diane Forrest, Judy Burns, Harry Jr. and Delores Rutledge, Tim and Nancy Hartley; Tara Ward, T.J. Ward, Randy Watson Jr., David Watson, Lauren Pitts, Amber Pitts, Jamie Forrest, Jason and Joanne Forrest, Susie Burns Gandenberger, Jody Burns, Kathy Rutledge Rodriguez, Connie Rutledge Courtney, Ashleigh Gandenberger, Cole Gandenberger, Shauna Gandenberger; and long-time friend, Kasey Charpientier.

Kris worked for me. He had such a pleasant spirit. He truly loved people and our guests enjoyed him. He will be missed by all who knew him. May God bless the family of Kris in their hour of need. God says we should rejoice at death as he has taken his child home.

I don't know where to start, I don't want to believe that you are not here anymore, i miss you so much and I'm so sorry I didn't get to spend more of my time with you. You were always the one that kept me going in life even when times were hard you always seemed to make it better just by being by my side and even when you weren't here a phone call would brighten my day. Now I find myself lost and not knowing what to do anymore. I sit here and wait every night for you to call or come home and say Hey!!! only to wait.

There is a saying "Better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all." Though I've known Kris for a number of years, it was only in the past year that we became close friends. He has left his footprint on my life. I'm a better person for having known him. I'm so grateful for the times we did have together. Kris, keep dancing and sharing the joy that you are remembered so fondly for. Til we meet again....

Im so sorry for your loss.. I remember running around on the playground at school and Kris would always push me on the swingset..and I remember our K-5 Graduation, and being friends with him all they way through middle school. He was a great friend who had a very loving and caring heart.His hugs were the best!! He will be truly missed!!! May God be with you always.

Jerry and Janice,
You have always been so willing to help my daughter CiCi with her dreams of becoming a singer. Even though we didn't personally know Kris, his death has rocked our world as well as many, mnay others.

The parties we enjoyed, the crazy/fun times in and out of clubs, even the more relaxed hangout nights, it all ended prematurely. I wish I would have had the opportunity to celebrate your birthday with you. I guess I was just a few minutes too late though.

I never really knew the adult Kris because I've seen him rarely since he moved out of your house. But the child Kris was always lovable, and you knew that he enjoyed being around you. I'm glad for the memories.

I still can't believe he is gone. I think it really hit me when I watched the tribute, with the slide show. He was one of my best friends in school & We had so many good times together. I wish we would not have lost touch when he moved but Iam so thankful for all the great memories I do have! He was such a good person. I will never forget him!

Kris was one of the sweetest, most thoughtful children I have ever been around. It is too bad that as we reach adulthood, we spread out and lose touch with all of those that we love. I was around around Kris alot when he was a young child but as I married and moved away I did not have the chance to see him anymore. I deeply regret that, and miss the entire Pitts family as I have always felt that they are an extension of my own.
You have always treated me like family, and I grieve with you as I loved Kris like a member of my own family.
