Martha Odom Obituary
McKinney, TX - Martha Quinn Odom "Marmee", age 82, went to be with her savior March 13, 2021. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 20 at Lakewood Funeral Home from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with a funeral service to follow in the chapel. Afterwards, a committal service will be held in the pavilion at Lakewood Memorial Park
Martha was born and lived in Jackson, MS where she had a career as a teacher after obtaining a Master's in Education. She taught and retired with the Jackson Public School District with 35 years of teaching. She worked at various private schools after retirement. She taught Sunday school at her lifelong, and much loved church, Wells United Methodist where she was very active.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life, husband of 42 years, Johnny Delano Odom; her parents, Bertha Sebren Quinn and Leroy Percy Quinn Sr.; and her three siblings, Betty Quinn, Leroy Quinn, and "Sonny boy".
She is survived by her daughter, Kristy Goodson (Eddie); grandsons, Dylan Goodson and grandson John Goodson (Kate); great grandson, Wyatt; nephew Tony Quinn; niece, Lori Fortenberry (David) and son David Fortenberry Jr.
Memorials may be made to Wells United Methodist Church, or Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation.

I miss her smile. Ms. Martha had such a humble and gentle Spirit. I once told Aunt Bettye that She (Martha) was the Wind Beneath Her (Bettye´s) Wings! Such a Love between Sisters.
