Pearl
Marty Kevin Fowler, 47, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Pearson Road Baptist Church in Pearl with burial following at Lakeland Place Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM Friday at the church and will resume at 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
Marty was born on November 4, 1966, in Coahoma County, MS; the son of Paul Mardis Fowler and Bobbye Nell Broadway Fowler. Marty was a talented tree surgeon and the longtime owner of Fowler Tree Service. He currently worked as a deck hand on the Jaguar for Harvey Gulf Marine International. Marty had been with Harvey Gulf for five years. He was known for his enthusiasm and zest for life. Marty would help anyone in need, he donated his time generously trimming trees of those less fortunate. Marty was very proud of the service our veterans gave our country and always tried to show his appreciation to them whenever possible. He cherished spending time with his family and friends and loved riding motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbye Fowler.
Survivors include: wife, Jeannie B. Fowler of Pearl; son, Zachary Fowler and fiance, Olivia Hamilton of Pearl; daughter, Valerie Fowler of Pearl; grandchild, Zoie Grace Fowler; father and step-mother, Paul M. Fowler and Mary Nell Fowler of Brandon; brothers, Richard (Rick) Fowler of Pearl; sisters, Daphne Carpenter and husband Tim of Brandon; Kim Tedford and husband Paul of Clarksdale; Heather Long and husband Michael of Pearl; step-brother, Raymond Harmon Jr. and wife Carol of OH and step-sister, Lee Cassatta and husband Johnny of Brandon.
