Melanie:
I am so sorry for your loss. I was shocked when a business associate of mine and Monroe's called me with the news. I wish I had been in Jackson to pay my respects.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. The mentoring and couseling Monroe provided to me early in my careeer continues to have a significant influence on both my personal and professional life, beginning when he hired me at Ernst & Whinney from Millsaps College. Many of the things Monroe taught me continue with me today as a partner at Ernst & Young. Melanie, Morgan, and Elizabeth, I know you are proud of your husband and Dad and all of the lives he touched. I will never forget Monroe's words when he offered me a career at Ernst & Whinney when I was 19 - "There is one thing that I can promise you in your career in public accounting, your handicap is going up."

May God comfort you in this time of need.
