I hadn't heard that Rex had passed. He was a friend of mine from way back. I think I bought the last thing that Skipper's sold. I was looking at my scuba card this week with Rex's name on it as the instructor, and thought I'd look him up. I never expected him to be gone so young.

Rex as I knew him. He could fly a plane, had a Harley and a Segway. He loved Australia and was a Mississippi man through and through. He was one of the most intelligent men I have ever known and was a true gentleman. He had a sense of humour and loved to tell stories, he was kind and very loyal. He loved fishing, diving and being lazy. We talked often despite the distance between us and he was a true friend, I spent a lot of my holidays on road trips with him that I will remember for the rest of my life. He loved tomatoes, family, watching TV, history and was a mindfield of information, he did not shoot animals or hunt and respected my views on both, I will truly miss someone who was at times inspirational and a good soul.
