Richard Bruce Blackwell born Nov. 26, 1946 to T.G. Blackwell and Frances Puckett Blackwell, 70, went on to be with Jesus while peacefully relaxing in his private hot springs in NM.
Memorial Services at Wells Methodist Church, Jackson on Wed., March 1st at 2 PM. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 P.M.

I only saw Bruce a few times when he visited my booth at the Bagwell Antique Show, but he made a lasting impression on me with his friendliness and mild personality. Always greeted me with a smile long before he got to my booth. We need more people like him. God rest his soul.

I just learned recently of the passing of Bruce, I lived in Crested Butte when he was there, he was always one of my favorite people, so gently and kind. I had the good fortune of running into him in California and one of our favorite music festivals, I will miss him and my heart goes out to his family. So sad to hear of the passing of my good friend Bruce. Our paths first crossed in high school when we rode Quarter horses together and Bruce was still living in Mendenhall. Over the years we have shared our Mississippi heritage as well as our mutual love of the west coast. We have shared our deep concern for the preservation of the planet as well as our belief in a compassionate and spiritual lifestyle. Even though I did not see Bruce often he will be greatly missed. Bruce was a beautiful person who always lived true to his beliefs and values. He will not be forgotten.

Knowing Bruce was a pleasure and an honor. His parents and siblings are the same to me. He always showed me true kindness and decency. Knowing him has made me a better person. I am thankful to Father God for now caring for him. My best wishes to Beth and Dean, and to Bruce's beautiful children.

I am sad to just now be reading about Bruce, and his demise. He truly was one of the most kind and decent men i've ever known. Could never agree with him on personal or political views, but he was a great man who loved despite differences. He really was one of the "good guys". Thanks to Father God for his care of Bruce now !!

Bruce was a friend immediately the first time we met at the Bagwell Antique Show. Even though we've only seen each other every year or so, his warm, humble spirit was always consistently there and much appreciated and admired by me. I'm typing through the tears.
