Mr. Dow was such a great teacher and an inspiration to me - from eighth grade English through college. Not only did he instruct, but he also entertained - which is invaluable to junior high students. I'll never forget his "happy frog" face! He will be sorely missed.

Robin was an inspiration to all those involved in Cursillo. The few times I got to interact with him at National Seminars I felt he was a true servant of our Lord. He will be missed.

Mr. Dow,
How I remember Speech Class in 8th grade and that ready smile that you always gave. I then, had the pleasure and the unforgettable experience to have you as teacher, mentor, and someone to look to and look up to while on financial staff for the Madison Central Yearbook. There was and has never been a person like you. You were there for me when things did not always go well and you also believed in me. I have always looked up to you and I wish that I would have gotten to spend some time with you before you left us. The last time that I saw Mr. Dow was on my wedding day and for him to have even come to it, was something I will never forget and a memory to always cherish. For some of us he was a teacher, but for me, Dow (as I liked to haved called him) was much, much more and I do not think that I could ever describe exactly how important he was in my life as a teenage girl. His children were very lucky to have him as a father. Mr. Dow, you were a one of a kind person and a great example to us all. We have lost a great person, but we have also gained the perfect one to look over us. I will miss you Mr. Dow and will always think of how you gave me a chance when others would not have. I have never forgotten that. God Bless and I shall never forget you - Sharon Gautreaux ( your yearbook girl)

Robin and I were childhood friends and second cousins. When I lived in Canton, we played on the porch at his house for hours day in day out. My family moved to Atlanta in 57' but we kelp in touch as we grew up. Later in life, I would try to see him when in the Jackson area on business over the years, but it's been a few years now and I was not aware that his illness had taken a turn. Robin will be missed by many from all over the country. May God Bless his family.

We met Robert when my husband went on dialysis 3 years ago and Robert was also a patient. I used to take him some homemade food and we had him to our home one time for a meal. He didn't quite know what to make of our family of 13!! I always enjoyed talking to him when I saw him and sensed that he missed his teaching days. In reading the previous entries, he must have been an extraordinary person, in every way. His boys have lost a great man.

Have you seen Jesus my Lord? We have in Robin Dow! He was full of God's love. We never had a conversation with Robin that he didn't make us smile. I am sure when he arrived in Heaven Jesus held him in his arms and said, "Well done my good and faithful servant." Robin we will miss you.

I am sorry to hear of your father's passing but I hope you can find comfort in knowing that he deeply touched many lives during his life here on earth. He had a passion for teaching and was a gentle spirit with a fiery commitment for serving the Lord. I also met Robin through Cursillo while serving on the NECC and through the grace of God, we became good friends. I remember a trip he made to visit me in Wisconsin during a terrible snowstorm. It was a hoot to see this Mississippi boy experiencing the frozen tundra. I believe he even went home with a cheesehead. I will really miss Robin but everytime I think of him, I will smile and rejoice that I was able to call him "friend".

Robin has been a dear friend for many years through National Episcopal Cursillo. I knew him as a man of faith with an extraordinary gift for evangelism. He knew how to share his love for the Lord through humor and everyday experiences. I will cherish our times together and will miss your earthly presence. But your witness lives on in so many of us whose lives you touched in the name of the Lord.

Robin was such an inspiration to me. He allowed me to see what God's unconditional love is. He also was an example of what I percieve an angel to be. To me he was an earth bound angel now returned home. I will miss his smile and never give up attitude.

Mr. Dow was unlike any teacher I had ever had before, and unlike any I ever had again. The one thing that stands out most was that he cared so much about his students and was always there when someone needed him. During a difficult time in my life, he made me see the value in striving forward, and I have never forgotten that. His loss is immeasurable.

Joy Joy Joy - that is Robin. His loving leadership, his quirky habits, and his love for Our Lord was an inspiration to me. My favorite memories were the toe socks of many colors he wore to meetings and of the Kokopelli we bought in many colors to indicate our Myers-Briggs personalities. He could take a complicated subject and explain it simply. There is joy, happiness, laughter, and dancing in heaven. He is sorely missed here but he is waiting for us to join him. I pray that his family will find peace in their grief and know the incredible joy of being part of Robin's family.

Robin was proof that Jesus laughed. I know because anyone could see Jesus in him and boy did he make us laugh. He understood the grace of God and lived it every day. He taught us joy.

To Robin's family, I can only say thank you for sharing your father with so many. He was truly an inspiration to all who knew him in any capacity. I came to know and love Robin through Cursillo and the Episcopal Church. I am thankful for the times that we were able to serve together and just spend time together. He was a great house guest & knew that my door was always open. Certainly there will never be another Robin, a gentle and loving servant of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Rest well, my friend.

Mr. Dow was my speech teacher in 8th grade at Rosa Scott and my “boss” for Yearbook/Journalism during my10th, 11th and 12th grade years at Madison Central. I was completely shocked and saddened by the news of Mr. Dow's passing. Out of all of the teachers I’ve had, he is one of the few I will always remember. He was a joy to be around, constantly making students laugh with his jokes and stories. Heaven just became a much funnier place. To his sons, my deepest sympathy for your loss. He has truly been taken from this world much to soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.

I met Robin when he kept my son in detention and I saw his De Colores sticker on his car. The friendship began in that funny way. There will never be anyone who makes me smile and laugh like he did- some of the things he could come up with make me smile still! Rest well, my friend. Love

I am so sorry to hear the news of Mr. Dow's passing. Mr. Dow was not only a former teacher/professor of mine, but he was also a good friend of mine and my wife's. He was always there whenever we needed his help, and he made EVERYTYHING funny. I remember when Christina and I were moving from Hattiesburg, he was helping us load the moving truck and he even made that funny. I just can't help but wonder if he was wearning his "Goofy socks" when he made his grand entrance through the pearly gates....
Get ready Heaven... You will never be the same after welcoming this gem into your midst. Oh... and... get ready for "mashed potatoes and gravy..."

I am saddened deeply by the loss of my dear, dear, close friend, Robin - or as Robin would have said, "I'm having a moment..." We will miss him here on earth, but Lord knows the angels are dancing in heaven to have him in their midst - that is they are dancing if they can stop laughing. I can hear him now "Isn't it time to chew?" Robin and I served the Lord together in many ways through the National Cursillo movement, and I will miss his wit and wisdom more than I can bear to think about. I loved him dearly. You - his family - are in my deepest thoughts and prayers.

He was one of the teachers we all still talked about and remembered fondly. We all took "Big Bertha" at the end of the year. We got to read the best books, especially in the "hood" class. Thanks for letting us be ourselves and encouraging us the way you did. Oh, and sorry for barfing cheese grits on the bus that time.

To Robin's family:
It was my great pleasure and honor to know your father for many years, having met when Robin first became active in Cursillo at the national level. I had the great priviledge of working with him on the national committee and following him as President of the NECC. I will always cherish this friendship and know that I was in the presence of a great Christian. May God grant you all peace. The Rev. Canon Hap Lewis

Robin was a joy to serve with in Cursillo. He will always be remembered for his "clown" methodology to teach the lesson, keep it simple. I can see him now, dancing before the Throne to the song "Pharoah." He is already much missed.
