Stephen Bollinger Obituary
Glen Allen - Stephen Fielding Bollinger, age 82, of Glen Allen, Virginia died January 23, 2021 at St Mary's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Charles Aubrey and Irene (Colbert) Bollinger and was the husband of Mary Margaret (Boyles) Bollinger. After receiving his PhD at Tulane University, Steve spent his career as a professor of psychology at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi. He was also an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Jackson and a loyal friend to many.
In addition to his wife, Steve is survived by his stepson, Chad Morrison (Jessica) of Powhatan, Virginia; stepdaughter, Amanda Palmer (Adam) of Baltimore, Maryland; sister Georgeanna "Suzie" (John) Anderson of Murrysville, Pennsylvania; six step-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles "Coby" Bollinger.
A virtual memorial service will be held by Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Glen Allen on February 7, 2021 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
