I too had the privilege of working with Dr. Ross at FGH. As a new RN, he took part in training me. I will never forget the knowledge and wisdom he shared. I counted on him so many times with so many patients care and he never let me down. RIP Dr. Ross. You will be missed !

My deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the Ross family. I worked with Dr. Ross as a nurse at FGH over the years. Always an excellent healthcare professional and a caring indivual. He was a constant teacher and instructor to the nursing staff. Not many like him any more. He will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to each of you. The world has lost a truly great physician and kind, gentle man. Dr. Ross carried a very scared 9 year old to surgery one morning. Yes I mean carried in his arms as she was so scared. I will never forget the man that was Dr. T E Ross III. Thank you to the family for sharing a part of your loved one with us all.

Erskine was a wonderful friend and counselor when I lived in Hattiesburg; and he was, indeed, an exceptional physician besides. He will always be remembered as a good hearted and caring man. May he now RIP.

So sad that Dr. Ross has died. He taught me so much about caring for patients when I was a new nurse working in the ICU at FGH. Now as a nursing instructor I often share those things he taught me with nursing students. He legacy will continue. Nell, so sorry for your lost. You can not imagine the number of times I have thought of you both over the years.

Our deepest sympathy to your family. Dr. Ross sounds like an amazing man. I know of him, and more so of his father, from my dad, Benjamin Erskine Gandy, who knew them well as he grew up in Hattiesburg. My grandparents, Dr. Tillis and Nora Gandy, were friends of Dr. Ross, Jr. and my dad was named for him. Your family's legacy is far- reaching. My dad is still living, but in the fog of Alzheimer's. He served thirty years as director of the MS Museum of Natural Science. He still remembers his boyhood growing up in Hattiesburg -- a very special time for both of our fathers! Prayers are with you!

To the Ross family, I had the pleasure and honor to work with your Dad as a nurse at FGH. His compassion, empathy, humor and skills shown bright through his work with his patients and how he treated them, the staff and his peers. I'm sure he will be a shining example for other doctors to aspire to be as great. Sympathy to all.

I remember so many things, being a nurse at FGH. He was one of them. My first encounter with him was in the nurses station at CCU at FGH. I was so intimidated by his reputation, but I had to discuss a patient with him. Nell came in, also, and he melted...everything went out the window. I saw a playful side to this doctor I had been terrorized about, and it was truly eye opening. He was extremely gentle, and caring, but remained professional, because we were at work. I later became friends with Nell on Facebook, and told her of this, how he had made her blush in the middle of the day, in the CCU, by just being that kind, caring, loving man, for a brief moment, just between the two of them, or so he thought....he was a great doc, albeit, a little on the testy side at times, no doubt due to the long hours and the volume of patients he ministered to. My prayers are for Nell... To be comforted by her loved ones at this most difficult of times. May the angels surround you, and hold you. God bless...
