Toni Jill Bertolet Henthorn, 50, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012 as the result of a tragic accident in the Rocky Mountain State Park. She was born on January 10, 1962 to Bob and Yvonne Bertolet in Jackson, MS. She was a faithful Christian, loving wife and mother, thoughtful daughter and sister, and an incredibly skilled physician. She was married to Harold Henthorn on September 30, 2000, and has one beautiful daughter - Haley, aged 7.

Toni graduated from Trinity High School in 1980 with honors and magna cum laude from the University of Mississippi Medical school in 1988, and has worked for Associates in Eyecare in Denver as a surgical and cosmetic ophthalmologist. She was awarded a place in America's Top Ophthalmologists by the Consumer Research Council in 2006. Toni attended and taught Sunday school at Cherry Hills Community Church. She was an accomplished pianist and had a beautiful voice singing in several church choirs. She shared her faith in Christ through her insightful contributions to GotQuestions.org on a regular basis. Harold, Toni, and Haley also enjoyed golfing, snowshoeing and hiking.

Toni is survived by her husband, Harold and her daughter, Haley of Littleton, CO; her parents, Bob and Yvonne Bertolet of Ridgeland, MS; and her two brothers, Barry (Paula) of Tupelo, MS and Todd (Rhonda) Bertolet of Ridgeland, MS.

Services will be at 4:00 p.m. on October 4, 2012 at Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Jackson, MS on October 19, 2012 time to be announced later. Online condolences may be left at www.HoranCares.com.

My husband and I thought very highly of "Dr. Toni" as we called her. She was always patient and kind and we thought her most competent. While it was sad for us to find out that Dr. Henthorn is no longer with us, we celebrate to know she was a Christian and is now with our Lord. May Jesus walk closely beside Dr. Toni's family to get them through this time.

Toni was my eye doctor in Denver. We quickly discovered we grew up in the same small southern towns... Natchez and then Jackson, Miss. We had so many family friends in common from both towns. We learned of Dr. Toni's passing when my husband called for an appointment today. She was my doctor also. It was her essence that made it easy for me to trust her to remove my cataracts. I was so upset when I heard this news. I knew her as Dr. Bertolet when she was in Jackson, MS. She was MY Doctor and I loved her. What a wonderful and smart Doctor she was. I hated it when she told me she was moving but happy for her to be getting married. Ron & Judith Walton are so sorry to learn of Toni's untimely accidental death. We are shocked but praying for all her loved ones as we consider ourselves to be. Several years ago when my best friend passed away after a long illness, I received a very touching card from Toni. She did not know me, but wanted me to know how highly she regarded our common friend, Jay, and how much she and her family enjoyed the time they spent with him on vacation skiing. She, Harold and Haley made a contribution to the American Cancer Society in his name, she wrote. I was incredibly touched by her kindness and remembrance. No doubt she will be sorely missed by the many people whose lives she touched in ways large and small. I will always remember the woman I did not know, who reached out to me from Colorado. I am deeply sorry for this tragic loss. She was a beautiful, talented woman and I know she will be greatly missed.
