I am very sorry to learn of my dear friend's passing. We were close friends in the Naval Reserve in Jackson, went to Officer Candidate School together, and later reunited during our active duty in the Navy. I sang in a Navy Choir he directed in Long Beach, California, and we went on many pleasant liberty weekends together while in Officer Candidate School. My deepest sympathy to his family for the loss of this fine gentleman.

Trent,
I am so sorry to hear of your fathers passing, and send condolences to the family. I didn't know your dad, but I have heard from several sources that he was a wonderful and well respected man. One thing I do know about your dad is that he raised a wonderful and polite son. Heath and Danika always spoke so highly of him, and Heath often reminisces of the vacation trip that he took you'll on. Trent, You have fond memories of your dad that you can cherish forever. We are thinking of you and keeping you in our prayers during this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Herring's passing. I worked with him in two musical extravaganzas at Murrah, plus one year in the Girl's EnsembleChorus, and two year in the Murrah Singers. I was in the class of '62. I went on to LSU to study voice and sing under Dallas Draper, Mr. Herring's mentor. Mr. Herring was a great teacher and a consummate musician. He changed my way of thinking about and hearing music. He will be missed and remembered.

I have fond memories of my time with Dr. Herring - He was my Choir Director at Ouachita High School and my first voice teacher at NLU, as well as the one who got me involved with the "NLU Singers". I last saw him some years ago at LMEA/All State. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. He was a great musician and teacher - be comforted in knowing that he touched and affected so many in such positive ways.

I would like to offer my condolences to the family. It was an honor to be a part of the team that provided care to your loved one. So many times we would sing and laugh together. I remember the last thing he said to me. When I got to work there was a Neil Diamond concert on TV. He smiled and I smiled as I ask "who is that singing"? He replied "Neil Diamond". He smiled so big at me while I attempted to sing Sweet Caroline . I will miss him so much. Please remember your family are in our prayers and your dad will always be in our hearts.
