Dallas Owen Runner Sr, age 86, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at St. Thomas Midwest Hospital.
Dallas entered this life on February 26, 1938, in Rowlesburg, West Virginia. He was the son of the late William and Violet Gross Runner.
He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Palmyra, Tennessee. He had a distinguished career as Sargent First Class for 21 years in the United States Army. After retiring from the military, he worked at both Jackson Oil Company and Montgomery Farmer’s Co-Op.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Delois Gober Runner; daughter, Ilona Runner Perry, and his grandson, Hunter Anderson.
Survivors include his loving wife, Peggy Smith Runner; sons, Dallas Runner Jr, Dwayne Runner, Dale (Melanie) Runner. Children by marriage include Joyce Groves, Sandra (JD) Rushing, Jeff (Kathy) Groves, Teresa (Dan) Welch and Julia Davis. Grandchildren include Jennifer Runner, Brandi Schrimpshire, Ryan (Samantha) Runner, Rachel Runner, Ashley Runner. Grandchildren by marriage include Jewel Wallace, Andy (Tina) Parrish, Michelle Ray, Joanathan Potter, Austin Potter, Evan Davis, Justin Farmer, Andrew Sain, Alicia (Alex) Holling. Mr. Runner also had several great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Dr. Ted Denny officiating. Burial and Military Honors will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
The Family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
