Warren Greene, passed away peacefully at his home in Cumberland Furnace on March 12, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on November 9, 1933, at the family home in Cumberland Furnace, he lived a life marked by hard work and kindness.
Warren proudly served the community through his career with South Central Bell Telephone, where he was employed for over 30 years. His commitment to excellence and service extended beyond his professional life; he was a master woodworker who enjoyed handcrafting items for his family and friends over the years. His craftsmanship was a testament to his creativity and provided lasting memories for those that received them. Warren's faith played an integral role in his life as a cherished member of Marion United Methodist Church. The sense of community he found there enriched his life and the lives of those around him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Barbara Smith Greene, their three sons, Ricky (Pearl) Greene, Mark (Angela) Greene, and Mike (Anita) Greene, and his siblings, Wade Greene, Ronnie Greene, and Sara Yarbrough. Warren was a proud grandfather to Jason (Erin) Greene, Jeremy (Amanda) Greene, Amanda (Brad) Taylor, Haley (Matt) Davis, and Heath (Jessica) Greene, and he delighted in his role as a great-grandfather to Brooklyn (Dylan), Emily (Kael), Carson, Connor, Cooper, Chance, Timothy, Oliver, Anna, Kyle, and one on the way, Ryker Warren. He also had the great joy of welcoming his great-great-granddaughter, Paisley, into the family. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Carney Allen Greene and Laura Greene (Schmittou), and his siblings, Annie, Dottie, Mattie, Catherine, Burney, and Allen.
The visitation will be held at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home on Sunday, March 16, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and again on Monday, March 17 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life at the same location at 11:00 AM, with Rev.
